International Advisory Board for Integrative Medicine

The International Advisory Board for Integrative Medicine (IABIM) is a global advisory body committed to advancing holistic, evidence-informed healthcare. Our mission is to promote a more inclusive, patient-centered approach to medicine that thoughtfully integrates conventional care with evidence-based complementary and traditional healing interactions and practices. We serve as a strategic think tank, offering expert guidance on policy, research, education, and health service delivery in integrative medicine

Through partnerships with global health institutions, governments, and academic centers, we aim to influence policy that supports safe, effective, and accessible integrative healthcare. Our board brings together leading physicians, researchers, policymakers, educators, and practitioners from diverse cultural and clinical backgrounds. All members of the board are highly experienced and senior figures in their respective fields, with longstanding contributions to medicine, health systems, public health, and innovation. Their collective expertise ensures that IABIM’s initiatives are both visionary and grounded in real-world impact.

Together, we advocate for the responsible inclusion of integrative therapies in national and global healthcare systems. Our research agenda promotes scientific rigor and innovation, prioritizing studies that explore the efficacy, safety, and cost-effectiveness of integrative approaches. We support ethical, community-engaged research models that value indigenous knowledge and cultural diversity. The IABIM provides expert consultation to guide evidence-based policy development and regulatory frameworks.

We also support global education initiatives, developing curricula and training standards for integrative health professionals. Our goal is to prepare a new generation of clinicians with the skills to deliver whole-person care. From webinars and fellowships to international conferences, we create opportunities for continuous professional development.

As advocates, we champion equitable access to integrative healthcare—especially for underserved and marginalized communities. We provide strategic advice on models of care that combine biomedical science with traditional and complementary practices, aiming to support system-wide approaches to prevention, wellness, and chronic disease management.

In all its activities, IABIM upholds principles of transparency, accountability, patient empowerment, and interdisciplinary collaboration. We contribute advisory input on matters such as service design, regulatory development, and quality standards to help ensure integrative medicine evolves responsibly—guided by evidence and grounded in compassion.

The International Advisory Board for Integrative Medicine is helping to shape a more holistic and inclusive future for global health—through strategic advice, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence in integrative care.
